Musical surprise

„[...] The crowning of master Vivaldi's “birthday concert” was a musical surprise prepared by the duet of Paulina Tkaczyk and Ignacy Stojek. The artists decided to combine the best traditions of baroque music with, once forbidden in certain circles, jazz music and the common denominator proved to be improvisation. When listening to this unusual and intriguing instrumental combination (soprano saxophone and harpsichord) one could have an impression that the baroque – or the tradition provides inspiration, is a way to escape from the new trends, that without it there would not be modernity, while modernity can reveal new aspects of tradition... Music is continuous searching and that is where its beauty lies, as reminded by this exceptional duet.”
